SIDNEY PERKOWITZ earned his Ph. D. at the University of Pennsylvania. As Charles Howard Candler Professor of Physics at Emory University, he has produced over 100 scientific papers and books and he consults for industry and government. He also presents popular science via books, articles, and the media with appearances that include CNN, NPR, the BBC, NASA, and the Tribeca Film Festival among others. His popular science books Empire of Light, Universal Foam and Digital People have been translated into six languages and Braille. His latest book Hollywood Science (2007) explores the portrayal of science and scientists in over 120 films, mostly science fiction. He’s a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
